Overview William A. Chrystal was a pianist, composer, arranger, and conductor based in the Pittsburgh area for most of his career. He attended the Peabody Institute in the 1950s and earned a bachelor of music, master of music, and artist diploma in piano performance. The William A. Chrystal papers contain primarily manuscript music scores prepared by Chrystal, including his arrangements for piano or another solo instrument of classical works, popular songs, and jazz standards.
