Abstract

The Committee on Post-War Planning (first known as the Committee on the Curriculum) was set up on November 12, 1942, by President Isaiah Bowman. The records of the Committee on Post-War Planning date from January 1943 to September 1944. Consisting of minutes, correspondence, curriculum reports, and a final report, the records are concerned with projecting the role of the university after the Second World War.

The collection consists of 399 letters written from Corporal Bernard E. Rabinowitz (179th Infantry Band)to his family in Baltimore, MD. The letters are dated from 1942-1945 and were sent from US bases, Sicily, North Africa, France, and Italy. This collection gives a first-hand account of one soldier's experiences during World War II. There are 230 letters, 140 V-mail, and 29 postcards.

The collection consists of a two-volume scrapbook on the Royal Air Force kept by Daphne Pauline McGeagh from 1942–1944. The scrapbook contains newspaper clippings of R.A.F. pilots and aircraft with photographs, sketch portraits, and short biographies or profiles. American, Canadian, Australian, and New Zealand pilots are included.

Ezra Pound (1885-1972) was an expatriate American poet, literary critic, a highly influential figure in the development of Imagism, as well as a major contributor to the early modernist poetry movement at the turn of the century. This collection represents the manuscript portion of a larger holding of materials created by or relating to poet Ezra Pound, compiled by collector Richard Frary.
