Abstract

Kemp Malone was a medievalist, philologist, etymologist, authority on Chaucer, and Professor of English Literature at Johns Hopkins University for over 30 years. Abstract Raymond Dexter Havens, educator and author, was born in Rochester, New York in 1880. In 1925, he joined The Johns Hopkins University faculty as Caroline Donovan Professor of English, a post he held until his retirement in 1949.
