A.D. Emmart was a journalist at The Baltimore Sun newspaper in Baltimore, Maryland from 1924 to 1972. Included in the collection is a scrapbook containing his editorial writings from 1927 to 1934, book reviews and art criticisms from 1928 to 1960, and many articles from his assignments in Russia from 1928 to 1933, and London in the 1940s.

A.L. Penniman was a mechanical engineer who worked for Baltimore Gas and Electric (BGE). The papers dates from the 1950s-1960s and include information on sitings for power plants, talks Penniman gave, and his membership in The American Society of Mechanical Engineers and on the Maryland Board of Boiler Rules. This collection has not been processed.

Alexandre Chessin was born in St. Petersburg in the Russian empire in 1866 and was a professor of Pure and Applied Mathematics at Johns Hopkins University from 1895 to 1899. This collection contains photocopies of handwritten lectures given by Chessin from the 1895 to 1896 academic year, collectively titled: "Introduction into the Study of the Theory of Functions--Lectures Delivered at J.H.U. in 1895-96 by Alexandre S. Chessin--Part I. Functions of Real Variables"

Charles Rockwell Lanman, born July 8, 1850 was a philologist in the late nineteenth and early twentienth centuries. The collection consists of lectures delivered by Lanman while at Johns Hopkins University from 1876 to 1880.

Édouard-René Lefèbvre de Laboulaye was a French businessman, lawyer, author, professor and politician born in Paris January 18, 1811. The collection consists of two volumes entitled "Constitution des États-Unis" containing 59 lectures written in French and delivered by Laboulaye at the Collège de France. Most were delivered in 1862-1863.

Frank Johnson Goodnow, Ph.D., LL.B. (January 18, 1859 – November 15, 1939), President of Johns Hopkins University, was an American educator and legal scholar, born in Brooklyn, New York. The collection consists of about 12,000 items and spans the years 1880 to 1940. The majority of the material is Goodnow's correspondence, but there are also lectures, addresses, writings and printed material.

Frank Roy Rutter (1874-1926) was an economist and an authority on international trade and commerce. The collection consists of lectures and addresses on economics, 1893-1897, and correspondence, 1917-1919, while Rutter was Commercial Attaché in Tokoyo.

Henry Phillips, Jr. (1838-1895), was an author, philologist, and numismatist. The collection consists largely of the manuscript writings of the author dating from 1862-1892.

Pocock, a historian of political thought and professor emeritus at Johns Hopkins University. His papers spans the years of 1962 to 2017, with the majority of the materials dating from Pocock's time at Hopkins. This holding notably includes his handwritten manuscripts of Barbarism and Religion (1999).
