The collection consists of a folder of ephemera and a small commonplace book, which appears to have been a gift to Mary C. Calwell from Annie Wetherall dating from 1833-1850. It contains various poems and notes written by friends and family. The ephemera are primarily religious in nature.

Stephen Crane (1871-1900) was an American novelist, poet, and short story writer, who in 1895 wrote "The Red Badge of Courage", which earned him international acclaim. This collection of materials relating to Crane, compiled by Johns Hopkins University alumnus Richard Frary, includes letters (many by Crane), events ephemera, photographs, articles of literary criticism, and sheet music (inspired by his fiction). The materials date from the 1890s to the early 2000s.
Rod McKuen radio scripts
Rod McKuen (1933-2015) was an American poet and singer-songwriter. The collection consists of fifteen radio scripts written principally by McKuen for his shows on KROW Oakland AM radio: eight from "Rhonda Vou with Rod" and seven from "Rendezvous with Rod." These typescripts may represent McKuen's earliest surviving work, dated November 18, 1950 to January 10, 1953.
