The copies were produced in the 1930s, and the location of the originals is described in the Provenance. Scope and Contents The collection consists of two series: microfilms of Italian mercantile records (1416-1535); and a typescript entitled "Translation of Selected Ordinances on Banking". The material reflects Lane's work as a scholar, and provides little biographical information. The microfilmed records (190 rolls) form the bulk of the collection, and contain information not otherwise available outside Italy. The film was shot in very short reels, so each is only 100- 200 frames long....
