WJHU-FM records

Overview WJHU-FM began as student-run radio station WJHU. WJHU-FM went on the air in 1979, and later became a National Public Radio affiliate in the 1990s. This collection consists entirely of magnetic tape copies of programs broadcast by WJHU-FM in the 1980s and 1990s. These tapes are in many formats and sizes.

Abstract Although radio station WJHU existed as a student-run station from 1946 through 1986, these records date only from 1976 to 1978. Included in this record group are the Constitution and By-Laws adopted in 1976, the proposal to make WJHU a non-commercial FM station, as well as correspondence and administrative records.

In 1930, Mrs. Mary Willard Berry, wife of Dean Edward Berry presided over the first organizational meeting of the "Women's Faculty Club," founded by request of President Joseph S. Collection consists of 41 pamphlets, one broadside, and one manuscript sent to President Wilson and ranging in date from 1883-1919, but dating primarily from 1917-1919.
