British Illustrators scrapbook
The scrapbook which forms this collection is a bound volume containing around fifty illustrations representative of the subjects and style of nineteenth-century British book illustration. In the scrapbook are caricatures, cartoons, foreign scenes, social commentary, and hand-colored engravings.

Edmund Duffy (1899 – 1962), was an American editorial cartoonist who spent the majority of his professional career working for The Baltimore Sun. This collection consists of approximately 1,000 cartoons from 1924 through 1962.
Emory Hamilton Niles scrapbook
Eugène Rosambeau lithograph, depicting female soldiers of “Les Amazones de la Seine”
This collection consists of an original color lithograph entitled “Les Amazones de la Seine,” created and signed by Eugéne Morsabeau Rosambeau in 1870. The print depicts a group of a dozen Prussian soldiers brought to surrender by members of the “Amazones de la Seine,” a French female military faction during the Siege of Paris (1870-1871).

Frank R. (Frank Robert) Smith was a Baltimore physician, born in the city on December 4, 1898. The collection consists of five bound scrapbooks that contain clippings and political cartoons removed from newspapers and magazines, 1915-1917.

Jean-Marie Goulemot Dreyfus affair collection
The Jean-Marie Goulemot Dreyfus affair collection contains published and illustrated material that documents the trial of Alfred Dreyfus, accused of treason in 1894 during the French Third Republic (1871-1940). The collection is entirely in French. Materials date from 1895-1900, 1906, and 1994, and include published writings, original drawings, posters and other illustrations that capture the events and reactions of leading figures.
Johns Hopkins University collection of Black Americana materials
The Johns Hopkins University collection of Black Americana materials spans from approximately 1870 to the 1950s. It is an artificially assembled collection of materials purchased and selected by the curators of Special Collections. The collection primarily consists of postcards, broadsides, and other printed ephemera that depict African American people in ways that are often racist and caricatured.
Samson Feldman cartoons
Samson Feldman (circa 1901-1983) began submitting political cartoons to The Baltimore Sun after graduating from Baltimore City College. This collection contains 33 printed cartoons that were published in The Evening Sun editions of The Baltimore Sun from 1917 to 1918. The collection also includes one photograph of Feldman from circa 1966. This collection does not include original art work.
