Overview Herbert Baldwin Foster was born on November 12, 1874 in Amherst, Massachusetts. In 1905, he completed the first English translation of Cassius Dio Cocceianus's history of Rome. The collection consists of five folders. Two of them contain a manuscript of, most likely, Foster's presentation to the Philological Seminar in 1900 on the deus ex machina in Euripides's plays.

John Higham papers
