Victoria Lincoln was an American writer of fiction and journalistic articles born in 1904. The papers consist largely of drafts of her many articles, stories, poems, and novels. The collection spans 1833-1986, with the bulk of the material from 1925-1985.

Walter Spencer Huffman music manuscripts and recordings

Abstract

Walter Spencer Huffman was a composer and music teacher who studied and served on the faculty of the Peabody Conservatory of Music in the 1940s and 1950s. From 1955 until his death in 2005, Huffman taught music privately in Maryland and continued to compose. The collection consists of holograph scores of approximately 150 works, including chamber music, symphonies, and choral music.

Walter Summer papers

Abstract Walter Summer (1923-2015) was a composer, writer, artist, and art exhibitor. He graduated in 1947 with a Bachelor of Science from Johns Hopkins and a Bachelor of Music and certificate in Harmony from the Peabody Conservatory. Summer wrote music, poetry, and prose throughout his adult life, often under the pen name Walter Summer d'Eté. His works were never published. William Churchill papers

Abstract William Churchill, philologist, ethnologist, and writer, was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. in 1859. He was appointed United States consul-general to Samoa (1896-1899) where he pursued his interest in philology and ethnology. Churchill also studied African languages and culture but less seriously than those of Polynesia. McClain joined the Department of German at Johns Hopkins University in 1953 and retired in 1982, serving as Professor Emeritus until the end of his life.
