Arthur W. Tyler papers
Arthur W. Tyler was born March 14, 1842 in Pittsfield, Illinois. This collection spans the years 1861-1896 and consists of subject files and correspondence. The majority of the records in the collection deal with Tyler's career as a librarian.
Bernard Christian Steiner notebooks
Bernard Christian Steiner a graduate student at Johns Hopkins University. The collection consists of three notebooks from courses Steiner attended at Hopkins in 1888-1890. The material covered includes lectures by Daniel Coit Gilman on charities, Elgin Ralston Lovell Gould on the family, and Woodrow Wilson on the administration of the state.
Frieda Thies papers
Frieda Thies was curator of manuscripts at the Milton S. Eisenhower Library, Johns Hopkins University, from 1902 to 1968. The collection consists largely of personal items belonging to Frieda Thies dating from 1908-1984. Included are notebooks, photographs, a memoir, and correspondence.
Howard-Ridgely-Maynard Family papers
The papers consist of land records, legal documents, family correspondence, family bibles, diaries, scrapbooks, and photographs of multiple families dating from 1684 to 1972. The families represented include the Maynard-Owen-Eastman families, the Ridgely family, and the Howard family.
James Louis Kuethe papers
J. Louis Kuethe (born 1905) served as assistant librarian at Johns Hopkins University for 43 years. The collection consists of articles published by Kuethe in Baltimore newspapers, correspondence related to his writings, and Kuethe's notes for a survey of place names of Maryland all dating from 1939-1968.
John Calvin French papers
John Calvin French was professor of English and librarian at The Johns Hopkins University and author of "A History of the University founded by Johns Hopkins." The collection consists largely of his research and manuscript notes dealing with the founding and later development of the University dating from 1928-1957.
McKendree Llewellyn Raney poetry collection
McKendree Llewellyn Raney was Librarian of the Johns Hopkins University, 1908-1927. Collection consists largely of typescripts of poems by Carl Sandburg with inscriptions by the poet. Materials range in date from 1929 to 1954.
Moncure-Lyne Family scrapbooks
The collection (1897-1943) consists of three scrapbooks, the subjects of which are the Civil War, Abraham Lincoln and Edgar Allan Poe. The scrapbooks were compiled by Miss Cassandra Moncure Lyne (born 1875) in collaboration with her mother, Mrs. Cassandra Moncure Lyne (1845-1934).
Ronald W. Clark letters
Ronald W. Clark (1916 - 1987) was a writer and biographer of Bertand Russell and Albert Einstein. Collection consists of two letters and one postcard of Ronald W. Clark to Mrs. E.C. Goodall thanking her for assistance.
