John Ayers papers
John Ayers was born in 1738 at Uxbridge, Middlesex, England. The collection consists of a diary (1766-1793), four commonplace books (1761-1802), and four notebooks of poems (1769- 1788).
John Lambert Richmond journal
The collection of physician and Baptist minister, John Lambert Richmond, consists of one small holographic journal describing his travels in southwest England, September, October 1830.
John Stuart Mill letters
Collection of English philosopher and economist, John Stuart Mill, consists of over 300 holographic letters written to him by noted economists, philosophers, theologians, and political figures of the nineteenth century. Drafts of Mill's replies are included along with 43 holographic letters written by Mill to Auguste Comte, 1841-1847. Most of the correspondence is published.
Manuscript of The Student : a play
Manuscript copy of the drama written by Bate himself in the style of a printed book with imprint statement: "London : Printed with a pen, by Fredk. Bate, 1838."
Contains amendments and additions in Bate's hand. Also includes some stage instructions. Written on thick paper in an 8vo volume in a contemporary full calf bining, spine fully gilt, lettered "The student," on a red leather label.

Samuel Oldknow business records
Samuel Oldknow was the first successful maker of British muslin in the 18th century. The records, dating from 1787 to 1811, consist of approximately 75 items which include correspondence, pay-tickets, receipts, ledgers, account and memorandum books, shop-notes, and documents.
Stipple engraved fan, depicting humorous characters in fable, "The Way of the World"
The item is a stipple engraved fan, printed with: "The Way of the World. A Tale" and depicts six humorous figures, representing "Report," "Hearsay," "SomeBody," "Every-Body," "No-Body," "Candour," with a descriptions beneath. The fan was published by Sarah Ashton of Little Britain, London, on January 1 1796, registered with Stationers' Company, the preeminnent London printing and publishing guild.
Sumner Chilton Powell papers
Sumner Chilton Powell (born 1924) was an author and historian. The collection consists largely of research material related to the history of New England, including maps, photographs, microfilm, statistics, and photostats of records and legal documents, from 1948 to 1973.
Trade card for John Mawe's Free Museum in Matlock Bath, England
John Mawe (1764-1829) was a British mineralogist who became known for his practical approach to the discipline. The collection includes an engraved paper trade card for "J. Mawe, Free Museum, Matlock. Mineral and Shells, Amethystine fluor and Black Marble ornaments, elegantly engraved or plain, chimney pieces etc." The trade card dates to the early 1800s, likely 1800.
