Scope and Contents
The scrapbook (1914) which forms this collection was assembled by Baltimore judge, Emory Hamilton Niles. Many of the items in the scrapbook are in German and reflect a brief but significant few months, July to November, in 1914. The scrapbook contains tickets, postcards, photographs, and newspaper clippings collected in Europe prior to and immediately following the outbreak of World War I. Overview
The Jean-Marie Goulemot Dreyfus affair collection contains published and illustrated material that documents the trial of Alfred Dreyfus, accused of treason in 1894 during the French Third Republic (1871-1940). The collection is entirely in French. Materials date from 1895-1900, 1906, and 1994, and include published writings, original drawings, posters and other illustrations that capture the events and reactions of leading figures.

Samson Feldman (circa 1901-1983) began submitting political cartoons to The Baltimore Sun after graduating from Baltimore City College. This collection contains 33 printed cartoons that were published in The Evening Sun editions of The Baltimore Sun from 1917 to 1918. The collection also includes one photograph of Feldman from circa 1966. This collection does not include original art work.

Tom Flannery cartoons collection

Thomas F. Flannery was born in Carbondale, Pennsylvania in 1919. In 1957, he moved to Baltimore and became the first editorial cartoonist for The Evening Sun in 1957. Topics include: Baltimore and Maryland, sports and personages, national issues and world affairs in the late 1950s through the 1960s, including the Kennedy presidency, the war in Vietnam, and the Cold War.
