Overview
George Wills served as assistant to Milton S. Eisenhower following Eisenhower's retirement as President of Johns Hopkins University in 1967. This collection comprises photocopies of correspondence, speeches, reports, and other materials related to Wills's work as assistant to Eisenhower. The collection also includes materials related to Wills's work as chair of the Citizens Commission on the Maryland Government. The collection spans 1954-1982, with the bulk of the collection from 1967 to 1971.

John Dos Passos (1896-1970) was an American novelist and artist active in the first half of the twentieth century. He was born in Chicago, Illinois, and he went on to Harvard College, graduating in 1916. He was well-traveled, visiting Europe and the Middle East, where he learned about literature, art, and architecture. This collection contains most of the working papers from Fowler's architectural practice (1906-1945) as well as photographs documenting other architects' work in the area. These plans, photographs and documents represent one of the most important archives on the built environment of Baltimore, and have been described in an on-line database entitled "Laurence Hall Fowler's Lost Baltimore."
