Abstract Charles P. Harris (1916-2003) studied bass and violin with W. Llewellyn Wilson and Lucien Odend'hal. He began his career playing bass in Baltimore clubs and at the Royal Theatre on Pennsylvania Avenue. He toured and recorded with Lionel Hampton during the 1940s and with the Nat King Cole Trio for fifteen years, beginning in 1951.
