Series 1, subseries 1-2 of this collection is housed off-site and requires 48-hours' notice for retrieval. Contact the Peabody Archives for further information.

It is not necessary to seek our permission as the owner of the physical work to publish or otherwise use public domain materials that we have made available for use, unless Johns Hopkins University holds the copyright. All requests for permission to publish or perform materials in this collection must be submitted in writing to the archivist of the Arthur Friedheim Library.

Biographical / Historical

Organized as the Peabody Graduates School in 1894, the Preparatory was incorporated into the operations of the Conservatory of Music in 1898. The Preparatory has provided instruction in music and dance to members of the community of all ages, including individuals with no prior training.
