Biographical / Historical

Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, flutist Lindsay Leach earned her bachelor's and master's degrees from the Peabody Conservatory studying with Laurie Sokoloff. In 2004, she became the first person to graduate from the piccolo performance program at Peabody and shortly thereafter enrolled in the Royal Academy of Music in London, studying modern flute with Clare Southworth, early flutes with Lisa Beznosiuk, and piccolo with Patricia Morris. She finished her European studies at the 2005 Académie International d'Eté de Nice, France.

Lindsay received her Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati. She taught at Rutgers University, the Music Department of the North Carolina Virtual Public School, the College of Mount St. Joseph in Cincinnati, the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, and Methodist University in Fayetteville, North Carolina. In 2008 she recorded her first solo flute CD, One of a Kind, with London-based pianist Philip Richardson.
