The collection consists of sixteen holographic notebooks compiled by zoologist, Charles Branch Wilson, while he was a graduate student at Johns Hopkins, 1894-1896. The notebooks contain lecture notes and laboratory drawings from classes in biology, botany, and physiology.

Biographical Note

Charles Branch Wilson was a zoologist and high school science teacher. He was born in Waterville, Maine, in 1861. After completing his undergraduate work at Colby College, Wilson received his D.Sc. degree from Johns Hopkins in 1908. Wilson was later appointed to teaching and administrative positions at preparatory schools in Massachusetts. He was the author of several scientific works, mostly resulting from his research and study of copepods.

Charles Branch Wilson (1861–1941) was an American scientist, a marine biologist. He is known for his extensive work on copepods, minute crustaceans. The collection consists of sixteen notebooks compiled while Wilson was a graduate student at Johns Hopkins, 1894-1896. The notebooks contain lecture notes and laboratory drawings from classes in biology, botany, and physiology.
