Biographical / Historical
Louise Colet (1810 – 1876) was a poet based in Paris. She won four prizes from the Académie Française and was associated with many of her contemporaries in the Parisian literary community, such as Victor Hugo. Colet was a Romanticist, author of La Jeunesse de Goethe (1839), Les Funérailles de Napoléon (1840), Enfances Célèbres (1865), among others.
Arthur Arnould, (1833 - 1895) was an author and journalist in Paris. He was an anarchist and member of the First International & the Paris Commune. Arnould wrote for libertarian & revolutionary socialist newspapers and is the author of books L'Etat et la Révolution (1877), Histoire populaire et parlementaire de la Commune de Paris. 3 vols. Bruxelles, Kistemaeckers (1878) and many novels under the name of A. Matthey.
