Separated Materials

A collection of 19th century recipes and domestic remedies compiled by Georgietta Charlotte Thursday. She utilised her old French exercise book, removing the original pages, and mounting the recipes, written on a variety of slips of paper, onto the stubs, or just loosely inserting them. There are around 30 pages which include: Mr. Wood's Grandmama's Ginger Wine, Orange Wine, Fancy Biscuits, Venice Cakes, Rich Plumb Cake, Madeira, and various Curries.

The item is a contemporary marbled paper exercise book with attractive engraved label hand titled 'Lettres Francaises.' There is some finger marking and signs of use as to be expected in such a household item.
