Biographical Note

Joseph C. W. Frazer was a professor of Chemistry at Johns Hopkins. Born in Kentucky, Frazer received a B. S. degree from the University of Kentucky, and a Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins in 1901. Dr. Frazer headed the research laboratory of the US Bureau of Mines from 1905 to 1911. During the first World War he ran the Baltimore branch laboratory of the US Chemical Warfare Service. He chaired the Hopkins department of Chemistry from 1914 to 1935.
