Biographical Note
Philip Berrigan was a political activist who was an outspoken critic of the Vietnam War. Berrigan was born in 1923, became active in the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s, and entered into acts of civil disobedience to protest war and the production of nuclear weapons.
