Scope and Contents
The collection consists of 18 accounts submitted to the Cecil County (Md.) Poor School Fund by teachers wishing to be reimbursed for the tuition of scholars who were unable to pay. The accounts include the children's names, number of days attended, the name of the school and/or teacher, and the amount requested. There are accounts for the years 1828, 1829, 1833, 1850, 1851, 1853-1856.

Custodial History
The collection had been shelved with MS.0014 Hermann Collitz papers, but was removed in May 1988.
Immediate Source of Acquisition
The records were purchased from a Philadelphia autograph dealer Frederick Welty, August 1, 1942.
