Biographical / Historical

William Henry Kennedy, also known as Harry Kennedy, was a ventriloquist, songwriter, and publisher (c.1855-1894). He was born in Manchester, England where he was active as a ventroliquist before becoming a merchantman. He arrived in Montreal in 1871 and New York in 1874. There he performed with Haverly's Minstrels, the San Francisco Minstrels, and Tony Pastor's company. Kennedy wrote more than two hundred songs.
