Patti Chapin sheet music collection
Scope and Contents
This collection, which spans approximately 1900 to 1970, primarily contains performance/artist copies of popular songs (these were not published for the general public, but rather provided directly to broadcasting companies for braodcasted performance). These are subdivided into annotated and unannotated copies.
The collection also contains correspondence, unverified original compositions, images/mentions of Chapin in print, radio guides and song catalogs, and various collected popular songs.

Biographical / Historical
Patti Chapin (later Patti Steincrohn) was born in 1903 and died in 1990. Chapin a CBS radio singer and pianist from about 1934-1943, after which she appears to have ceased performing. Online memoirs from her family indicate she still enjoyed music as a hobby until her death in 1990. Her daughter also indicates that her mother performed for president Franklin Delano Roosevelt.
