Scope and Contents
The Johns Hopkins University collection of African American history and culture is an artificially assembled collection which spans from 1800 to 1988. The collection consists of printed materials including diaries, photographs, broadsides, ephemera, and letters related to African American experiences, both personal and professional. The collection includes materials created during World War II, diaries and family albums, and organizational records. See file descriptions for more information on individual items.

Custodial History
Some of the materials in this collection were originally a part of the Johns Hopkins University Black Americana collection, MS.0672.
