Biographical Note

Leonard Bathurst Nolley was an alumnus of Johns Hopkins University who graduated fifth in his class in 1929. He was born in Baltimore, MD in 1906. A congenital illness caused Nolley to become blind at the age of 15. Nolley studied medieval history in graduate school and wrote two novels about Byzantine civilization that were not published. Leonard Bathurst Nolley died in St. Mary's County, MD, October 1, 1972.
