Pen and ink cartoon caricature on poster-size artist board, by William “Norman” Ritchie, drawn in 1915. The drawing lampoons the latest fashion in women's clothing, the inclusion of pockets on women's garments, with one caption starting with, "Just Like A Man." The central image shows a stylish woman with dozens of parcels protruding from the over-stuffed pockets of her outergarments. The item measures fifteen by eleven and a half inches, and is signed “Norman” at the bottom center.

William "Norman" Ritchie (approximately 1865-1948) was the celebrated and remarkably long-lived political cartoonist for The Boston Post. His career spanned five decades and he was said to have been completely ambidextrous, drawing with equal facility with either hand.
