Copied from dealer description: Ralph R. Lawrence was an Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering at Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, as well as a member of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers. His book, Principles of Alternating Current Machinery, was first published in 1916 in New York by the McGraw-Hill Book Company. The present volume appears to be an early revision of a portion of the fust edition corrected by Jacob Young, who was likely a fellow teacher of Lawrence in the Department of Electrical Engineering at MIT. The piece contains a hand-written titlepage followed by 101 pages of text. Within the text are 51 tipped-in mimeograph illustrations and myriad equations. Corrections and additions by Young are handwritten throughout, with some pasted in. Following the 101 pages of text are 22 pages of manuscript notes by Young entitled, "Solution of Circuits." A unique revision piece with manuscript corrections and additions throughout, along with numerous illustrations and extensive manuscript notes at rear.
