"Divide and Conquer" pages, 2007
Scope and Contents
Two pages, each with three individual paper doll-like prints with portraits on the front and text on the back, from Maureen Cummins' artist book Divide and Conquer. The pages' text shares the stories of Essick Harris and Charlotte Fowler. The front portraits may be mixed and matched. The medium is intended to illustrate how the Ku Klux Klan objectified and played with people's lives and raise questions about how communities form and are pulled apart.
