"Authors' Book" scrapbook
The scrapbook titled “Authors’ Book” is a cloth notebook containing 166 clippings of author portraits across eighty-three pages. Next to each portrait is a list of works, handwritten in pen or pencil. The creator of the scrapbook is unknown, but the contents suggest it was compiled primarily in the late nineteenth century and into the early twentieth century.
James Roberts Gilmore papers
James Roberts Gilmore (1822-1903) was an American author who often used the pseudonym "Edmund Kirke." This collection includes letters collected by Gilmore from literary, political, and popular individuals of the 19th century. The letters span the years 1820 to 1903.
