Overview The Carlyle Barton Laboratory was a semi-autonomous engineering laboratory (early 1950s to 1970), operating under contract for the United States Air Force, in collaboration with the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Johns Hopkins University. The records include technical reports with unique identifiers in the form of report numbers given by the Laboratory. The reports were produced from 1954 to 1968.
Scope and Contents The records of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science span the years 1924 to 1985 and are arranged in four series: (1) Administrative, 1924-1981; (2) Student Records, 1937-1984; (3) Westinghouse Fellowship and Chair, 1958-1985; and (4) Accreditation, 1955-1982. Scope and Contents The papers of Johns Hopkins University professor, Jan Michael Minkowski, document his demanding course work and research at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, 1946-1948, and his teaching and research career at Hopkins, 1960-1987.
