Abstract

The Department of Sociology at Johns Hopkins was founded in 1959 by American sociologist James Coleman. The department concentrates on two broad areas at the graduate and undergraduate levels: global social change and social inequality. This collection contains records of the Department of Sociology from circa 1960 to 1990, and an archived website from 2015 - Ongoing. The records may include faculty and student records.

Abstract

The Maryland Mutual Insurance Company was located in Baltimore and dealt in marine insurance. The company was chartered in 1858 and operated from about 1860 until 1877. This collection includes records of both the Maryland Mutual Insurance Company and the Baltimore Marine Insurance Company, and consists of administrative and financial records. Materials in the collection span 1858 to 1879.
