 File — Box 3: [Barcode: 31151034394126], Folder: 4
Scope and Contents This handmade valentine is made of paper lace framing a hand-colored engraving of a man in casual clothing and smoking a cigar as he stands outside beside a waterway with a bridge in the background. The man's shirt and pants have been cut out and replaced with what appears to be silk taffeta with tiny beads glued on as buttons. The fabric may have originally been wide ribbons cut down and sewn to fit inside this window. The engraving was produced by Dean & Son of Ludgate Hill, London....
Dates: circa 1860s
