Propaganda and campaign material issued by the Comités de Défense de la République, a right-wing Gaullist coalition that formed in reaction to the protests of May 1968 in France. Many of the items encourage people to vote for Charles de Gaulle and to save France from a Communist dictatorship. Two of the items are critical of François Mitterand of the Fédération de la Gauche Démocrate et Socialiste and his presidential hopes.

The volatile period of civil unrest in France during May 1968 was punctuated by demonstrations and massive general strikes as well as the occupation of universities and factories across France. At the height of its fervor, it virtually brought the entire advanced capitalist economy of France to a dramatic halt.
