Alfred Jack Thomas was an African American composer, educator, and conductor who served as a bandmaster in the United States Army and became the first African American to conduct the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. The A. Jack Thomas papers contain manuscript scores and instrumental parts for three of his compositions for orchestra: Mirage, Scenes Pastoral, and Etude en Noir.

Cousins Adam Itzel Jr. and John Itzel were conductors, arrangers, composers, and educators who studied and taught at the Peabody Conservatory in the late 19th century. The collection includes manuscript scores of light orchestral or operatic music arranged primarily by Adam Itzel Jr., as well as manuscript scores of some of his original compositions.

Alinda Burnham Couper studied harmonic analysis with Nadia Boulanger and taught and composed music, becoming one of the pioneer composers of handbell music and developing a new technique called "four-in-hand." Couper remained friends with Boulanger and exchanged letters for years after studying with her. The Alinda B. Couper papers contain manuscripts and published scores composed by Couper, as well as her notes, composition journals, papers, and photos.

The Brick Fleagle and Luther Henderson papers and collection of jazz recordings contain manuscript and published scores of Fleagle's and Henderson's compositions and arrangements, personal papers of Brick Fleagle, photographs, and recordings.

A record producer, composer, pianist, critic, and educator, Cal Lampley taught at the Peabody Conservatory and Morgan State University for many years after working in the record industry. The Cal Lampley music manuscripts contain scores of his music and a small collection of concert programs and related papers.

Carol Lynn (1893-1987, born Carol Lynn Fetser) was a dancer and educator who was the co-director with Ted Shawn of the Jacob's Pillow ballet school. Lynn taught privately in Baltimore in the 1920s and 1930s and directed the Peabody Preparatory Dance Department from 1947 until her retirement in 1970. The Carol Lynn papers contain Lynn's choreography with corresponding musical scores, a collection of her 16mm dance films, and photographs, programs, and other documents related to her career.

The Charles F. Mutter musical scores contain manuscript and printed scores of music by Mutter, a composer and organist who lived in Baltimore around the turn of the 20th century.

Christopher Lobingier (1944-2014) was a composer based in Baltimore who wrote the original score to the 1977 John Waters film Desperate Living and participated in the Baltimore Composers Forum. This collection contains scores of original compositions by Chris Lobingier, including his score to Desperate Living, as well as materials related to the Baltimore Composers Forum, recordings, and other ephemera.

Abram Moses was a composer and violinist who attended and taught at the Peabody Institute. The collection includes 11 manuscript and Ozalid scores of chamber music and songs by Moses written between approximately 1900 and 1950.

Charles Henry Bochau (1870-1932) was a member of the Peabody Conservatory voice faculty from 1897 to 1932, director of the conservatory's glee club, and one of the founders of the Johns Hopkins Symphony Orchestra. The collection consists of manuscript and published scores of music composed by Bochau, including vocal music, symphonic music, and chamber music.

Kaikhosru Shapurji Sorabji was an English pianist and composer. The collection contains published writings as well as photocopied scores of Sorabji's music for piano, chamber ensembles, orchestra, organ, and voice.

David Simon was a musician, composer, conductor, educator, painter, and arts administrator who founded the Baltimore School for the Arts and served as its director from 1979 to 1995. This collection includes manuscripts and facsimile copies of David Simon's scores, dating from approximately 1945 to 2000.

Dawn Culbertson was an eclectic musician and composer based in Baltimore who experimented with the lute and recorder. Her papers contain original manuscript compositions, personal papers primarily from her student years, and recordings of her radio show, Exploring Early Music.

Dina Koston (1929-2009) was a pianist and composer who co-founded the Theater Chamber Players in Washington, D.C. The Dina Koston papers include manuscript scores of her compositions, documents related to her performances, and audio recordings.

Donald S. Sutherland is an organist and former coordinator of the Organ Department faculty at the Peabody Conservatory. The Donald Sutherland papers, approximately 1929-2015, contain documents and musical scores related to Sutherland's career as an organist and organ instructor.

A Baltimore native and Johns Hopkins University graduate, Edwin Litchfield Turnbull composed, arranged, and conducted music for the Johns Hopkins Musical Association and other local ensembles. The Turnbull scores contain manuscript and published scores composed or arranged by Turnbull.

Emmanuel Wad (1862-1940) was a Danish pianist who taught at the Peabody Conservatory from 1892 to 1919. The Emmanuel Wad papers contain scores of Wad's operas and other works, an essay by Wad, and a family genealogy.

Enrico Caruso (1873-1921) was one of the most popular operatic tenors of his era. After beginning his career in his native Italy, Caruso immigrated to the United States and became a star at the Metropolitan Opera. His papers include manuscript and published scores belonging to Caruso, photographs, correspondence, scrapbooks and clippings about his career, caricatures and other artwork, recordings, and ephemera.
