Robert Forster was a professor in the Johns Hopkins History Department for almost 50 years, where he became renowned for his work on the history of early modern France. These are the professional papers of Forster dating from 1946-2003, including, but not limited to, research notes, typed drafts of his writings, correspondence, and teaching materials.

Dr. Samuel H. Bryant, of Baltimore, Maryland, was born on March 25, 1905. This collection consists of about 350 letters written by Dr. Samuel H. Bryant of Baltimore, Maryland, to his wife, Edna C., between May 14, 1941 and November 15, 1944. Most of the letters were sent from undisclosed locations in the South Pacific (around the islands of Fiji).

Research, teaching, and other materials related to Saul Roseman's professional career from approximately 1980 to approximately 2010. Roseman (1921-2011) was a biochemist who was faculty in the Biology Department at Johns Hopkins University. Boxes 1 through 10 contain paper files. Samuel Donald D'alfonzo was originally from Catonsville, Maryland and enlisted in the United States Army in October 1942. The collection consists of nearly 220 letters sent during World War II (1940-1946) from his mother, close friends, fellow soldiers, and girlfriends.

The material consists of correspondence, prose, poetry, lecture and music manuscripts, photographs, memorial information, and newspaper clippings.

Sidney Wilfred Mintz (1922-2015) was an anthropologist best known for his studies of the Caribbean, creolization, and the anthropology of food. The collection spans the years 1950 to 2005, and consists of correspondence, lecture notes, course files, administrative records, talks, manuscript edits, and research files.

This collection is a handwritten letter, dated March 3, 1779, from the Bernard-René Jourdan de Launay, governor of the Bastille, with an accompanying engraving of de Launay.

The Sitwells were a literary family with a country estate at Renishaw Hall in Derbyshire, England. The collection contains letters, a notebook, photographs, newspaper clippings, and books related to the siblings Dame Edith Louisa Sitwell (1887-1964) and Osbert Sitwell (1892-1969), and their cousin by marriage, Constance Sitwell (1887-1974). The material dates from approximately 1921 to 1962.

The Société des Amis d’Isidore Isou, or the Friends of Isidore Isou, was organized in 1970s France to assist and support Isidore Isou (1925-2007), founder of Lettrism, an art and literary movement which owed inspiration to Dada and Surrealism. This collection primarily includes the society's earliest correspondence, which documents requests for financial contributions to the newly-formed group, spanning 1970 to 1972.

This collection is a set of six letters from French author Sophie Gay to French poet Alexandre Guiraud written in 1822. Sophie Gay was a French author born in Paris, France in 1776. Alexandre Guirard was a French poet, dramatic author, and novelist born in Paris, France 1788.

Soren Lura was a cellist and conductor who also worked for the Library of Congress. His collection consists of 22 letters by Brahms, Sarasate, Richard Strauss, Moscheles, Spohr, Grainger, Wilhelmj, Saint-Saëns, and others, collected by Lili Scholz and given to Lura in 1950. In 2007, Lura's daughters, Donna Fink and Dody Martin, donated the letters to Peabody in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Peabody Archives.

The collection contains letters and postcards from composer Stefans Grové to Peabody music librarian Brad O'Keefe from 1972 to 1974, shortly after Grové had stopped teaching at the Peabody Conservatory and returned to his native South Africa.
