Antonio Magliabechi letter

Overview The collection consists of one hand-written letter of Florentine bibliophile, Antonio Magliabechi. The letter is written in Italian and bound into a volume along with a typescript English translation. Also in the volume is a copy of D'Israeli's biographical description of Magliabecchi from Curiosities of Literature. The letter was written August 24, 1697 to author, Giovanni Giustino Ciampini (1633-1698).

C. Grove Haines papers

Overview Charles Grove Haines was a Professor of Diplomatic History born in Abbottstown, Pennsylvania December 10, 1906. The bulk of the collection consists of correspondence and subject files dating to Haines's time as the Director of the Bologna Center at the School of Advanced International Studies dating from 1970-1976. Some personal items are also included.

Overview Ezra Pound (1885-1972) was an expatriate American poet, literary critic, a highly influential figure in the development of Imagism, as well as a major contributor to the early modernist poetry movement at the turn of the century. This collection represents the manuscript portion of a larger holding of materials created by or relating to poet Ezra Pound, compiled by collector Richard Frary. The holdings range in time from 1909 to 1986, with most of the materials dating from 1909 to 1960.

Scope and Contents The collection consists of two series: microfilms of Italian mercantile records (1416-1535); and a typescript entitled "Translation of Selected Ordinances on Banking". The material reflects Lane's work as a scholar, and provides little biographical information. Overview Giuseppe Marchi was an archeologist, born at Tolmezzo near Udine, 22 February 1795; he died at Rome, 10 February 1860. Collection consists of a manuscript transcription of "Orazione che usarano contre la peste nella citta di Trento e prelati che vi erano presenti per il Sacro Concilio ad altre orazioni ed antifone contro il male contagioso," originally published in 1582.
