Scope and Contents note
Subgroup 1, Series 9, Confidential Student Records, 1890's-1980's, consists of information regarding regular graduate students, BA/MA candidates, and special students. The individual files often contain some combination of the following elements: inquiries, applications, examinations, seminar papers, evaluations, recommendations, news clippings, and general administrative and personal correspondence. Records are arranged alphabetically by the name of the student. All information, save that regarding deceased students, is restricted.

Conditions Governing Access
Access is restricted to education records of living students or former students, as defined by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, unless the student or former student grants access in writing. If it is not possible to verify date of death, the student will be assumed to be deceased 80 years after date of graduation, or date of last attendance.
