Seminar Minutes, 1947-1954, 1960-1964
Scope and Contents note
Subgroup 1, series 1, Seminars, Clubs and Lectureships, ranges in date from 1877 to 1987 and includes materials relating to the Department's various seminars, associations, clubs, and lectureships. Most notable are the minutes of the Seminary of History and Politics/Historical and Political Science Association, 1877-1912. Minutes, membership lists, constitutions, announcements and correspondence relating to the History Seminar Club, History Club, History Graduate Students Association, and International Relations Club are also in this series. Among the Seminar Club records are letters from such noteworthy Hopkins alumni as Charles M. Andrews, Newton D. Baker, Douglas S. Freeman and John Franklin Jameson. This series also includes records pertaining to the Shaw, Hinkley and Schouler lectures, including twenty-two files of correspondence with Albert Shaw and various Shaw lecturers (1921-1941).
NOTE: The minutes of the Seminary of History and Politics (subgroup 1, series 1) have been published in a facsimile edition and may be available in libraries or through interlibrary loan. Following is the full citation to the published edition:

Conditions Governing Access
Administrative records in subgroup 1 (series 4, subseries 1 and 2) are restricted for twenty-five years from their date of creation. Education records in subgroup 1 (series 2, subseries 1 and 2, and series 7, subseries 1 and 2) and subgroup 2, as defined by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, as well as employment records in subgroup 1 (series 3), are also restricted.
