Origins (Mars), 1964 November 23
Scope and Contents
Levin’s subject files cover a range of topics, but are largely made up of correspondence with colleagues and fans of his work. Major subjects in this series include Mars publications, the NASA Spacecraft Sterilization Technology Seminar, a decade of papers and programs from the SPIE (Society of Photographic Instrumentation Engineers) conference, and a 1995 proposal by Levin and his team called ALIF (“Analysis: Life or Inorganic Forms?”) designed to investigate the reactive agent detected during the Viking missions in 1976. The subject files also include various Levin lectures and talks, including handouts and PowerPoint slides, manuscript copies of scientific papers by Levin, and conference notes and programs.
