Scope and Contents note

From the Series:

In Series 4: Press Office are the printed press releases, newsletters, bulletins issued daily and monthly from Congressman Long's Office. They are mostly complete 1965-1971. After 1971, some months or complete years are missing. They are filed chronologically, and a monthly listing is given in the Container List.

The press releases that are available in the series provide a detailed summary of Long's work in Congress and in the community. The bulletins described legislation introduced by Long; grants, monies allocated for Maryland projects; meetings with officials on behalf of state projects; schedules of area visits; his problem-solving on behalf of individual citizens; and sometimes an opinion piece on local or national affairs. His slogan "Something Wrong See Long" is printed on most of the releases.
