Scope and Contents
Wanted poster for an enslaved man named Jim, posted by enslaver A.B. Berry. The full text of the poster reads: "Fifty Dollars Reward. A negro man named Jim, about 5 feet 6 inches high, bright mulatto, full suit of hair, no marks recollected. He is about 24 years of age, and has rather a down look when spoken to. He has a variety of clothing, which he took with him. Jim was raised by Dr. John Wootton, late of Prince George's co. I will give the above reward for his apprehension and return to me, or placing him in jail, so that I get him again. A.B. Berry, Near Bladensburgh, Prince George's Co. August 31, 1852."
