These productions were directed by Alvin Ailey and William Hairston in approximately 1964, and were performed at: 1) Bethel Temple in Bronx, New York, performed by New Directions; 2) The Sanctuary in New York City by The Greenwich Players, Inc. and 3) Sailors Snug Harbor in Staten Island, New York, by the Lambda Chapter, Lambda Kappa Mu Sorority, Inc.
