From the Sub-Series:

Subseries 9, Susan K. Martin, spans the period 1947 to 1989. The records document in detail the daily activities of the library, through correspondence within the library, with other departments and divisions of the University, with state and national library organizations, and with other universities. The Alternative Catalogue Newsletter was edited by the MSE Technical Services Department during the heat of the debate over the adoption of the revised edition of the Anglo-American Cataloguing Rules. The records include papers submitted to this journal, as well as papers written by MSE librarians for internal use, publication, or presentation at conferences. There are also contracts with media and software vendors. Much treatment is given to the project of automating the library, a major concern during this time. Significant library activity is reported in Level Talk, sometimes in lieu of minutes. Confidential faculty and student records are located at the end of the subseries.
