Scope and Contents note

From the Series:

Series 2, Fund Administration, ranges in date from 1958 through 1980, with the bulk of the material dating from between 1967 and 1969. These records concern the day-to-day operation of the Fund and consist almost entirely of the files of James Egan, the Fund Vice President charged with local development and the planning of a capital campaign in 1968-1969. Also included is some material from the files of Walter B. Thomas, Associate Director of the Johns Hopkins Fund until 1967, when he transferred some material concerning the "Student Support Program" to the incoming Egan, who assumed responsibility for the program. The files are arranged alphabetically by title, in the same order and with most of the same headings as when received, except that redundant files have been combined. Included in these files are memoranda, minutes, and reports; material from specific projects assigned to Egan, such as the capital campaign and the Student Support Program; correspondence with, and reports of, various civic and professional organizations of which Egan was a member on behalf of the Fund; prospect and gift lists; lists of Hopkins Hundreds donors from the late 1970s; and other notes and correspondence with individuals and companies.
