Patuxent River--Plotted Data, undated
Scope and Contents note
Series 5, Research Data and Notes, contains raw data and rough notes, much of which corresponds to studies documented in series 2 and 3 and reported in series 7. The material may prove difficult to use, not only because of its technical nature, but because most items were never precisely labelled and the codebooks, if extant, are missing. Data are in the form of computer printouts, charts, and graphs. Files can be found under the appropriate cruise number, operation name, or subject of study. Some areas that were studied intensively are Baltimore Harbor, the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal, the Choptank, Patuxent, and York Rivers, and New York Harbor. Two fairly major operations were Operation Fishkill and Operation Oyster Spat. Oversized items are located at the end of the series. The series, arranged alphabetically, dates from 1949 to 1978.
